Edinburgh was beautiful, and I absolutely loved every minute being there. The mix of old and new buildings is beautiful. It is truly magical to walk down those cobblestone streets looking at all the shops and cafes along the way. I could have spent hours just walking the streets there it was astounding.
here is the inspiration for Harry Potter's Diagon Alley! |
One of my favorite parts of touring Edinburgh was the castle there. It is built on top of Castle Rock, and man were the views incredible! Everywhere you look in Scotland is beautiful, I don't think you can turn a corner and not see something amazing!

Unlike Utah, it rains so much here in Scotland and is so green! It has been such a change for me to need a raincoat every day here in the summer, but I have loved the rain!
After touring the castle, we did a walking tour of the city. We picked the worst time for it, because it poured nonstop the whole tour. But if I'm being honest here, I actually loved walking around in the rain :)
I spent four days in Edinburgh, and one of those days was out in the highlands, which I will be writing about later on. The Scottish people were so nice, even though I couldn't always understand what they were saying! A friend of my father told him before I left that it was going to be hard for me to go to the United Kingdom, because although they speak English, they have a lot of little phrases and different words for things.
However, I have gotten so much better at Scottish and English phrases! I'm practically a local here now ;)
I know I have been awful at updating my
blog but I promise I will be better over these next few weeks! Keep checking
back, I will have more photos of Scotland soon and a lot about London as
well!
